Words Beyond

For his first solo recording, Alon is surrounded by one of the few rhythm sections able to immerse themselves and meander through his original compositions, inspired sometimes by Mendelssohn, sometimes Thelonius Monk or Keith Jarrett. They make it all seem easy and fun, in a recording you can dig into for a long time..

“Nechushtan is a talent to watch, with a surfeit of ideas, an unbridled spirit and bold, two fisted sense of architecture.” Michael Jackson Downbeat Magazine

Since moving to New York in the early 2003, Alon has played piano and collaborated with Jazz greats including William Parker, Daniel Carter, Roy Campbel, Sam Ford, Bob Moses, Ben Allison, Quinsin Nachoff, John Ellis, Anat Cohen, and many more.

Alon has played as sideman in various ensembles including Frank London’s trio (with Marcus Rojaz and Frank London), Baye Kouyate and his Afro Beat Ensemble featuring Emilio Valdez, Alicia Sviagals Klezmer Quartet with Larry Eagle, Kenny Wollesen’s Himalayas with Ben Goldberg and other guests, Nick Gianni’s Evolution , Root Valdez and QB3. François Moutin.

Francois Moutin was born in Paris. He is co-leading the Quintet Moutin with his twin brother Louis, a top echelon Jazz drummer, This project has evolved into the Moutin Reunion Quartet. With this band, the brothers are touring extensively around Europe and the United States. The third album or the Moutin Reunion Quartet "Something Like now" (after "Power Three" and "Red Moon"), was released in September 2009.
When he was still living in Paris, Francois worked non-stop with the greatest musicians of his age: Martial Solal, Michel Portal, Antoine Herve, and Daniel Humair. François has performed in every important european jazz festival, and he has toured in over 30 countries around the world.
In November 1997, François moved his bass to New York where he has found steady work in live performance and studio sessions with premier artists in the New York jazz scene. A partial list of their names read like the yellow pages of jazz: Franck Wess, Jimmy Heath, Monty Alexander, Benny Powell, Don Alias, Mike Stern, Lew Soloff, Steve Kuhn, Joe Locke, Billy Hart, Jeff Tain Watts, Victor Lewis, Billy Drummond, Richie Beirach, Oliver Lake, and the list goes on...
