>We're back on the road, and it was a bit hectic going out of the city, as Sarah and I were running around tying up loose ends- like getting out the latest Buckyball CD release to the manufacturer before this trip starts. Meanwhile, Sarah went to get the van and as usual it is not ready. What does that mean, not ready? What are they doing with it? Don't bother cleaning it because we have over 2000 miles to cover!
>Anyway, some jazz gigs are going to be refreshing- Thelonius Monk, Charlie Mingus, Chick Corea, Miles Davis...you can't go wrong, and since it is basically Tunnels backing up Sarah it does take some interesting turns.
Talking about turns, where do we go now? |
>Oh, I forget to mention that since in the second part of the tour we will be performing Sarah's crossover project I had to get in the mood and play a bit of harpsichord which gets me closer than ever to what one would have experienced if that music were performed when it was written. |

After our first gig we were fortunate to be able to stay at Sarah's friend Terry's house who lives in the area. the nice thing about staying at someone's house is that you can sit around a table and chew the fat, and a nice meal (Thanks Terry!). Hotel rooms are so impersonal and the only food is basically the fast food around the corner.
With all of the turmoil going on in the world, it's difficult to go about business as usual, so to calm Frank's fears, he gets a bedtime story by Sarah, a rare treat! |
>Rocks, where are they coming from? Percy is determined to find out, so some sampling (of the mineral kind) is in order. |
>Backstage on our second gig in Sharon PA. I am catching the "Star" in the dark, behind the curtain. We are playing in a very big auditorium where every note we play reverberates for a long time, and since we had to cross the whole state to get here, we did not get a sound check... |
>Sarah decided to return the favor and took a picture of me. I always have my sounds in the back of my mind, I have been experiencing some difficulties with my instrument and although I am confident that it will work ok, there's always that what if...don't unplug me nooooooo!!!!! |
>You've got to make sure you keep a tab on your expenses on the road, as it is easy to come home with nothing left if you just spend with wild abandon. Hence Frank's very attentive look at his stash. |
