>Pittsburgh here we come... interesting geography around this town, surounded by hills on one side and a river on the other. We got to drive around quite a bit, and there was some kind of major roadwork going on so speaking of the river, we crossed it a few times looking for our destination. We did that last time we were in this town too! |

>T>his is our home for the evening, thinking about it it is really what is happening, for the evening we are owning the place, ephemeral but strong. And the Club Cafe is a nice place, with a good sound system and soundman (a rarer and rarer occurance these days). |
>Here is Herbie, who joined us in Pittsburgh for the rest of the tour. He is filling some pretty big shoes (Johnny "Mandala" Goodsall) who is somehow tied up on the West coast. Herbie is a great addition to the group, and he lets Frank borrow his cell phone! |

>Life in the van is tedious at times (when we are not in some heated discussion about the sad state of the world or some other subject), and if you can take a nap you should take it, you never know when the next bed wil come around. |
Personnally I enjoy playing with my lap top, at this moment I am listening to last night's show, in order to catch the spots that need to be looked over by all of us. Sarah's Nuove project has not performed in three months and we are doing new tunes, so it always takes some adjusting. The rest of the time I build and ramble on these tour book pages. |
Tunnels, tunnels, tunnels, we are crazy about Tunnels! |
Sakura, our fearless Buckyball employee joined us too, and this is with great relief that Sarah and I sit in the back seat of the van and let ourselves "space out" (when we aren't trying to be backseat drivers, that is) |
>Philly, the Tritone, Percy is hard at work, doing to the bass what only he is able to do. He is the foremost master of this instrument, and there no slapping to be heard here- it's all screetch, rumbles and Tartini effect (more about this effect here). How come he is not front and center on every bass and music magazine is a mystery that can be solved only by understanding how misguided and partial are the music industry pundits. |
>I finally found out what was wrong with my instrument, there is some battery in there that needed to be changed every other year or so, just long enough for you to completely forget about it from one time to the next. |
>When people ask Sarah why she is trying to do such a crazy thing as putting baroque music and jazz/rock together, she gives the same answer a mountain climber would when asked the same question: because it's there! |
>Herbie Maitlandt on guitar |
>Tom Gagliardi, the man behind the radio show the Gagliarchives has always been a great supporter of Tunnels, Sarah, and Buckyball- we just need a hundred more like him. Hey, why not? Britney must have at least double that number... |
