the weather is getting quite unpredictable...hopefully a full tank of gas and some squeegie action will prepare us for the long road ahead. |
 |
Snow is all around us and sometimes it comes down really hard. The driving is becoming a bit difficult, and this is a two lane road so we have to pass a few trucks, I insist that there is a strong connection between downhill skiing and passing, since with both of them you have to face possible danger in order to achieve the necessary result- you have to face the incoming traffic in one and the downhill in the other. What can I do? My Swiss roots do surface sometimes. |

What happened? We abandonned the van, I inadvertantly lost the keys, and our only option is walking back, and hopefully find them on the path. Percy is particularly distraught about it, since his GPS ( Global Positioning System) is locked in the van. Without it we stand little chance against the elements. |
 |
Percy decides to take the lead, even without his trusty device. He will try to use his inner compass to lead us to safety. |
 |
We made it, tonight we are playing one of our gigs for Penn State, so we have to switch gears. Although we are also performing Nuove songs, the bulk are jazz tunes. I am very happy that we were right and Percy has become a jazzer- he swings hard, and he always admired the playing of Charles Mingus. So I think that it is a great opportunity for Percy to explore a new repertoire. |

Its action breakfast, with our host Way shoveling through a pan of scramble eggs, that will soon be served to appease our appetites. Way is a self made promoter and musician who started this in order to have a place to work from and share good moments with visiting bands. We've been trying to get on the jazz show at the local station WICB, to announce the gig. But it seems that nobody is interested in giving us any help, even though we sent the station CDs six weeks ago but apparently we don't fit into their agenda. What is their agenda, this the question....without us musicians they wouldn't have music, so what gives??? Luckily we got a nice article in the Ithaca Journal. |

Frank is going to skip breakfast... |

As Herbie awaits his feast, he searches diligently for a sign of recognition of Buckyball by one of the "jazz" periodicals...unfortunately we didn't advertise in there so I guess our persistent little label doesn't warrant a mention. Well, we won't mention their name, either! I guess we're in a little bit of a pissy mood since Marc lost the keys...and since he's the boss we have to direct our anger somewhere! |
