Taking of from New York just before a snow storm, we get to go strait over the the polar circle and we fly over a lot more snow all over Northern canada and Alaska, it is a feast for the eyes and here's a peak out of the many dozen I took from my window seat, (I always get a window seat just for the view). this is a nice way to fly all the way to Japan. |

Thirteen hours later and the longest day in my life, and the first time I pass from one days to the next without going thru a night, strange but I finally understood what the international date line means. As the trusty on board map confirm, we are arriving in Tokyo any minute now, i can't wait but being upright for a while. |

Looking out the window, there are no doubt but we are now very close to the ground, that the shadow of our plane, still going 187 miles an hour (don't try this with your SUV!). |

Here we are in a cab in Tokyo goign to a restaurant to taste the many facets of the local cuisine. I always thought thatr there is a close connection between fine cooking and good music, and if this proove to be right, the music is going to be quite happening for these japanese shows. |

We have a day just to get out of our inevitable jet lag, and we are not staying put. Yes this is Lance and Percy in the tokyo subway, and I have to say that I am a bit disappointed, because unlike to the myth, nobody was there to shove us into the train, or maybe we just where not in the morning rush hour... |

Electronic City is a special treat, especially for Percy who is always on the look out for some weird electronic gizmo that only him knows what to do about, maybe another storm detector or a ionosphere doppler shift analyzer, who knows what next is up with his inquiring mind. Why those he plays bass, we all know, but he is not really sure for himself. |

We are all curious about all these many devices, mini camera seem to be everywhere, wherever you look you see yourself, I wonder if when mirrors were invented if there was such a boom about them in the back alley of Venice in Italy. I am fascinated by this mass production of technology, and I cannot but wonder if we do really need it, do we? |

Refreshments anyone? these automates are ubiquitous in Tokyo, every street corner you find one or two, there is something uniquely Japanese about them, the neatness, the color and the convenience, hard to beat. |

Beatles move over here comes Tunnels. Ok we went and heard a Beatles cover band last night, and this put us in some kind of a retro mood, and then Percy started his all career in Liverpool and use to play at "The Cavern" club every Wednesday night, and since the Beatles are still very popular in Ja pan I devise a way to communicate using only Beatles song titles, it goes like that : Hey Jude, it was a hard days night, a magical mystery tour, let it be...obladi oblada!?!?... I guess it does not make a lot of sense, I guess I am trying to find some international language. What am I kidding myself, music is the international language, see you at the gig. |
