I could not resist but take pictures of these buildings, our first gig in Tokyo is in that. very fancy neighborhood, a cross from fifth and Madison avenues, for those who know NYC, which for sure is our frame of reference.
Reflections and transparency, a nice way to make a building almost float.
You can take the man out of its toys but not the toys out of the man. Percy loves electronics toys, these are of a different kind, but they might be his freinds none the less.
Well it is back to work, these are taken at the sound check of the second Tokyo show, a really nice club called Sweet Basil, in the middle of the Loponghi neiborhood, we just went though a long interview, and the signing of 70 CDs, my wrists are tired!!!
The sound check goes well, a big stage always makes things sound big and the music starts breathing more, it is like a different heart beat his keeping it alive.
A plunging view on the band, I keep thinking that this must be the best view anyone can have of the band on stage, you can check out all my pedal and mallet work as well as Lance and Percy's techniques. The gig goes really well and the place is almost sold out, that makes for a happy club owner!
After the show it is dinner Japanese style, with our Japanese crew, from the left to the right are, Hiroshi, the man that is responsible for getting us here, and that put together a list of sponsor to make it possible, Shinji, technician that got us that made sure that all our need technical and more, where met, Kotaro, also always here to help us drive to the gigs and back, walking us through the subways, and Kyoko, who put together the Tokyo shows, and was very instrumental in making this part of the trip successful.
By Tokyo, here's all our stuff waiting to be loaded in the Bullet train that is going to bring us to Kyoto for tonight's gig, it brings me memories of long train trip while touring in Europe, but this time I don't have a dolly and this keyboard is really heavy and the station quite large, but we made it.
That's the one, I am into train, they are the coolest way to travel, it a lot more relaxing sitting by the window, watching the country side go by than sit in a car.
