It is hard to describe this picture, but to say that it describes well our feeling that night in Atlanta. The Eyedrum is an artist's space and we are performing in a gallery, the theme is "supernova" - those exploding stars that help us devise the age of the universe. So we are in a stellar mood. During the short sound check we find out that King Crimson is also playing in town that night, but their show is at 8 pm and ours is at 11, so if one would want see both shows one could easily do so. The other good news is that we got a write up in both papers, so we should be in good shape.
There is a lot of time before the show, so we drive around a bit, and find a cool restaurant called “six feet under”, and the only reason I am mentioning the name of this place is because it was a really good and affordable restaurant, and for those who know it is a major problem when you are on the road to find a good and not too pricey place to eat, and that one fits the bill hands down. It's on Martin Luther King Boulevard, and it comes highly recommended.
Back to the club, the opening band is wrapping up the show, there’s a nice crowd and the mood is party-like.
Well we start playing and there is right away a great feel that establishes itself between the band and the crowd. This going to be a good one, every tune becomes extended, the audience is very receptive and enthusiastic. When it is over this gig might have been one of our best gigs ever. The band is really tight and loose at the same time, it is a great feeling, we all know that this is it.
The next day, Percy is still under the positive vibes of the previous night, we decided to have fun and try some funny pictures for this tour book. I don’t know about you all but I think this is one of the best pictures of Percy, ever.
