Switch to another tour

It is interesting, but we somehow seem to be attracted to bridges. This one for you trivia buffs out there was built in 1865 and serves as a prototype for the Brooklyn Bridge, and is crossing the Ohio River in Cincinnati.
While we are crossing these bridges, I would like to backtrack, to mention our gig in Louisville the day before. It turned out to be a really good one. and the first one of the tour where we played two full sets, let me actually share the list with you, you might like to have a recollection of the eveningif you were there, and if you were not there and know the Tunnels CDs, it might be of interest to you. So here it is:
first set:
1. Improvisation, 2. Progressivity, 3. Wall to wall sunshine, 4. Quai des brumes, 5. Tunnels, 6. Inseminator.
Second set:
Land of the hazmats, 2. Lilly’s dolphin, 3. Frank’s beard, 4. Bass solo, 5. Prisoners of the knitting factory hallway, 6. The syzygy incident.
encore: Barrio.
These sets cover very well the material from the three CDs. the crowd was very receptive and enthusiastic, a special thanks goes to the organizers of the Monday night music series, who decided to cancel that night's session in order to all come hear us at the Rudyard Kipling.
Still on another bridge. More trivia, this is the Wheeling Suspension Bridge, the first long span wire-cable suspension bridge in the United States, it was completed in 1849 and is in the city of Wheeling W, Virginia. I guess if we were to go further back with suspension bridges in this hemisphere we would end up on some Inca rope bridge in the Andes, but that's for another tour!
We could all fantasize about what Percy would have been if it was not the master of the fretless bass that he is. I for myself could see him on the set of NYPD Blue, playing the bad guy checking on when the shipment is coming in.
Frank would settle for a more mundane lifestyle, gardening for the rich and famous in the midwest. He probably would be highly specialized on how to gently convince the bugs to leave the garden, without harming them in any way.
But for know he his more tempted in following his father’s footsteps (Frank’s Father Dick Katz, has played piano with about everybody in jazz).
That was the extent of the crowd in Cincinnati, they were well dressed and everything, but they were not very noisy
Or maybe this was that indian and the cowboy, I am not sure anymore, it was very dark in the club. That last gig did not meet our expectations, we are getting used to rooms full of an enthusiastic crowd. On the up side the people at the Greenwich are very nice and supportive, and as the manager said: it is just one of these nights.
I’ll close this tour book with this faded X in the sky, which symbolizes to me that the great shadow of Brand X, although always present, is fading. This tour has confirmed to all of us that Tunnels is becoming an entity on its own, with a clearly differentiated identity.
It is always at once sad and welcoming to come back home to NYC, but we are going on the road again in two weeks- this time with first some Jazz gigs in various colleges in Pennsylvania with Sarah Pillow backed by the Tunnels lineup (a very interesting combination), and then a double billing with Tunnels and Sarah Pillow ?Nuove Musiche? Project, featuring new songs from the upcoming release "Remixes" -check the schedule. Be sure to tune-in.
